Over the years, I have been asked to create visual identities for certain productions at the Southside Theatre Guild. These images, typically referred to as 'logos,' represent my conceptualization of the scripts' themes combined with the specific vision of the play's director.

The images typically appear on the website, on season brochures, program covers, mailouts and flyers, as well as a 6' x 3' large-format marquee outside the building.

Southside Theatre Guild

The King and I

The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical play depicting cultural clashes between East and West. The white elephant, executed in a quasi-Asian brushstroke style contrasts with the "classically" rendered British flag.

Romeo & Juliet

Romeo & Juliet

The director of this production set his version of Shakespeare´s classic tragedy in Depression-era Appalachia. The eclipse motif is a direct reference to a line in the play, and the weathered boards tie the theme to the director´s vision.

Keeping Dixie

Keeping Dixie

An original script by a local playwright themed with caring for a mentally handicapped adult. The Scrabble image was the first graphical treatment for the play, drawn from a recurring reference throughout the script.

First Christian Church

First Christian Church

Developed as part of my AIA senior project. The client did not have a definitive logo. The idea was to have something simple, classy, and to avoid cliché.
